Join Our Speed Watch Team

Barnham has previously had a very proactive and successful speed watch team.  However, during 2023 the previous co-ordinator - an essential element of the team - stood down.  Unfortunately, despite the many complaints received from residents about motorists driving at inappropriate speds through the village, nobody else came forward and the team was finally officially disbanded and the equipment returned to Suffolk Police during 2024.

During the Annual Parish Meeting in 2025, a resident who came along to express his views about speeding through the village stepped forward and volunteered to take on the co-ordinator's role.
We are now actively seeking team members to be able to progress: 10 would be a good number - we currently have 5.  This would enable a reasonable number of sessions to be held during each month without over burdening a few people: 3 people are required for each session.

All team members will receive training (mainly on line), and equipment will be provided.

Are you concerned abot speeding through the village of Barnham?

Could you offer a couple of hours a month to the speed watch team?

If so, or if you would like to know more, please get in touch.

We hope to hear from you very soon.
